I'm a new owner of a commercial Luger and ask for any help and info you experienced collectors can give me. I'm having problems getting more than 1 picture to load at a time so I'll post them separately.

posting more than one is pretty easy - advanced - then
Manage Attachments and you can post up to ten at once

Even if large photos - >2mb's it will make them fit

Welcome and congrats on you Luger.
What kind of help or info do you want?

DavidJayUden 08-31-2015 11:37 PM

Looks like a .30 cal. alphabet commercial, original finish, non-original magazine. DWM mfg. Nothing else jumps out at me, but of course more photos will help.

CB, judging by the fit of your extractor in breech block, I would bet that it doesn't have the matching last 2 digits of the serial stamped inside, as it should to be matching. TH

'M' block ran from very late 1923 to first 2/3rds of 1924

LugerDoc:
What part of the extractor fit raises concerns? There is a gap at the rear which I thought common, and slightly uneven gaps along the sides, but I'm not seeing the same red flags.
Thanks in advance for the lesson!

Congrats on your new Luger. As above, it appears to be an alphabet commercial Luger. They are fun lugers, and make good shooters if you decide to shoot it. Yours looks to be in very nice condition. The mag appears to be aftermarket.

Thanks for the info, I didn't know the date of manufacture. It does a non-original magazine and it is chambered in 30 luger. Is it hard to find period magazines and do they help the value any. I also wondered if you can recommend any "required reading" for a new collector.

DonVoigt 09-04-2015 08:58 PM

Reading-
yes, read all the posts here, start with the ones in the commercial area and then move on to the rest!

Welcome and enjoy your luger.
