Armorers Kits
Questions were asked about oversized pins:
I bought 4-6 of them on ebay yeas ago and like Tom, only used the largest. I HAVE had the need for an over-sized pin a few times, they were worn and needed a larger pin. most of mine are in an armorers kit I had made years ago by a forum member :) |
would reamers / drill press drilling be required to fit the oversize pins correctly to the holes in slide and breechbolt/center link/toggle parts ?
seems like original holes would be somewhat oval and thus use of the new pins as-is would misfit holes too loose / too tight perhaps the original armorers kits included such reamers ? thanks Bill |
Can anyone describe an armorer's kit or post a picture of one?

I think these close tolerance holes would have to be reamed to achieve the correct size. A drill would not be accurate enough, JMHO. And you would be right about "oval" wear! Tom, I ordered two toggle axles from Numrich recently, one was std. size, the other over size, but not worth sending one back at $5.70 or there about. I would surely like to see an armorer's kit also. |

new Armorers kits I had made
I have a wood colored one and a green painted one :) |
I would think that an armors kit would consist of mostly the small parts - pins, springs, etc. rather then major parts like receivers, frames and toggles. IMHO, It would also depend on echelon of repair - front line, battalion, division or return to factory.

I am always looking for luger, ppk, p38 parts. also need a beat up front Luger holster, because I have a nice front, wwi style, army or police. Trades for ammo gladly accepted, heck I have 30-06, lots of 30 carbine, lots of 30 Luger and lots of .22 long rifle bricks. For trade value I'd push a harder bargain than cash, but let's talk plus 5-8 / 9mm WWII boxes to trade or sell JUST as an aside, I have a complete battle pack of 9mm, 52 boxes that I would sell for 825$ shipped |
