of the sock drawer last night. Have a few to go..

:rockon:Looks like your "socks" are One-Size-Fits-All
|
Steve
I'd never seen so many beautiful socks, congrats! Sergio |
Very nice looking socks, and an impressive array! I see a couple non-reproduction (1918 and earlier :)) that grab my attention, particularly the one in the foreground of the second photo.
|
Looks like a nice set of Mausers there too!
|
Hmmm, socks with a Mauser logo... there might be a market for those!
|
I can't wait 'til he gets out of the sock drawer and over to the gun safe...

I wish that my sock drawer looked like yours.

Good looking Radom snuck in there too!

I hope you have some extras to wear!

beautiful display. Thanks for sharing. I am interested in the "socks" storage pouches. Is this a safe way to store handguns that have oil on them? I love the idea. It would keep down those little dings that happen in a crowded safe. What material would be safe? Can they be purchased?
Thanks, Lawrence |
Cotton not nylon!

I forgot they can be enlarged with one click!! Very Nice!

Thanks for all of the nice comments. I was actually trying to figure out a way to store these in such a way that would give me more room in the safe and at the same time make it easier when I wanted to remove them. I came up with one of those plastic storage containers with the dual flip top lid. it fits in the safe ok, holds about 14 Lugers but I still have the same problem or worse because it takes up more room. It won't nest in the corner because of the sloping sides of the plastic box. I ended up with a neat way to store them but not giving me any more room.
Ron, that is a 1900 AE I bought when I was 14. Paid for it from the money I made at Wolf Nursery and a paper route. The previous owner accurized it by cross hatching the trigger with a file. Other than that it is in excellent condition and I shot the poo out of it in my younger years That's the only pre '18 in that group. Tharpo, the rest are Mausers, Army, Navy and Banners. ugafx4 the Radom is an early c block model. There is a Nazi Star B in there as well. Lawrence, the socks are called "Bore Stores". All of those pistols in the pics are oiled and stay in the bore stores, never any problems. Best thing that ever came along for collectors IMO. http://www.borestores.com/ |

Steve, looks great!
My son sells bore stores at gun shows - really believe in them, Bill Munis got me onto them and we eventually bought enough that they considered us a 'distributor" :) Meaning we can buy them as needed. |
The bore stores are nice but you can't stack them. I prefer the MTM 804 case guard storage boxes. Closed cell foam as a bottom that will not hold moisture and a place to store some ammo and an extra mag.
