No reserve and $.01 starting bid???

Hell, I'm bidding on it!!! :D

I don't care if the front of the frame has been skim-cut and re-stamped... :p

Very wide throat [feed ramp]...Lots of boogering on various parts...Strange gouge near end of barrel...

Hi Hugh, Thanks for the heads-up. It's an interesting assemblage of parts. I don't think the front of the frame has been shaved, it's more likely that that undated receiver is from a long frame gun. The unmarked 6" barrel is definitely a replacement.
Regards, Norm

Norm, the displacement doesn't look large enough for the long/short frame swap...

(If anyone else is thinking of bidding, be aware that my absolutely top bid will be $120...OK, maybe $150...You'll have to beat that...)
;)

The difference between a long and short frame is only 1mm.

WAG: might be that the chamber had been drilled to deactivate. There seems to be a corresponding imperfection in the chamber in pic#19

It looks like somebody used a vice grip on the receiver to get the original barrel off.

sheepherder 07-29-2015 04:00 PM

$1285 and 25 bids and climbing, with 2 days to go... :)

Dwight, I don't have a stripped barrel or barrel extension of either here to measure, but reading the prints it looks like 2mm...or .078"...

The original breeching washer I bought from Tom Heller, for installing a "long" threaded barrel into a short frame, measures 2.60 mm or 0.101".

It is reportedly an original washer: I can't imagine they would leave it that much longer than required.

Tom?

I was not able to try it out, as my "long" threaded barrel would not turn into the receiver I was trying. I need one of those thread chasers!

I would be interested . . . .

I would be interested but Bubba got his hands on this one first.
