The Correct Magazine
Couldn't find a thread on the correct magazine for my 1916 Mauser....What should it be????
Have a Great Day!!!!!!! Earl |
earl, none
there is no such thing as a 1916 Mauser 1916 wood base 1935 on an aluminum base |
Earl
MAUSER company manufactured Lugers from 1930 to 1942, that's why a 1916 MAUSER never existed. I assume you ment a "1916 Luger" probably manufactured by DWM or by ERFURT. In any case a 1916 gun would need a nickel plated steel mag with wood bottom. Best regards Sergio |
My mistake.... It is a DWM....I'll look for one now that I know what it requires....The luger's serial number is 1948, hope I can find one that matches, but that is unlikely....
Thank you for the info.... I have an extra magazine....It is nickel colored with a wooden bottom, but it has "GERMANY" embossed in the wood...Can anyone I.D. for me?? Have a Great Day!!!!!!!' |
Your 'GERMANY' stamped mag is a commercial replacement made between 1900 to 1929.

Earl, Usually the stamped "GERMANY" means that the gun was supposed to be exported, so the item is most likely a "commercial" one. Regards Sergio |
Thank you Mike C. And Sergio....
I thought that it was a commercial magazine, but just wanted to make sure....It's in outstanding shape.... Have a Great Day!!!!!!! lEarl |
