I don't know how many gunshops there are in Nanuet NY but at least one has an unenviable reputation for Lugers...

I like that one much better, nice strong Death's Head next to a worn 1917.:o

It's amazing how that much buffing really brings out the blueing and straw on a vintage gun!

I don't recall ever having seen so many "death head lugers" on the Net like in the last two years.

Hi All,

Frankly, I'd like to see some really good Spandau fakes just to breakup things up a bit!

Is that a DWM toggle on a Erfurt Barrel extension?

I'm not seeing what makes it an Erfurt receiver, but then
I'm new at this.

What is the clue, please?

The cut in front of the chamber for the artillery sight.

It could have started life as a DWM Arty, and had its barrel changed. I have one like that.

Too many opportunities could also be a problem in C&R collecting.

True. But there are much more p08 Erfurts with the cut than DWM Artys with the barrel changed.

Yes, after a point all Erfurt receivers had the cut, regardless whether used in assembling a P.08 or LP.08. Lots of Artys had their barrels changed post WWI due to barrel length restrictions. (Recycling Lugers is good!):)

I believe the point is, one can't say that it is Erfurt because of the cut; I thought maybe there
was some other clue.

If we could see the front of the trigger guard, we'd know for sure.

Well, I wasn't saying, I was asking.
