how much should I offer him. what do you think.

the other two on the post are RC this one is matching the pictures aren't great but you get the idea.

For both links I'm getting an error page. Can you post the pics here directly?

Armen,
What is your intended purpose-shooter, collector, candidate for re-finish or just nice to have and has a gunsmith gone over the pistol? The condition looks a bit rough and the lack of clarity of the pictures concerns me. How is the bore and has the seller fired the pistol recently? Is he offering a non-firing inspection period?

Thanks, Never owned a Luger. Have three P38, and bunch of G43, 98.
He answered my the WTB for P08Muaser 42/S42 . Seller 42 item is matching but not so much collectible and the other one RC 42.
Since being my first Luger I really can't say. Like to shoot it. couple times a year. Not a lot.
bore, he said is ok!

Seems to me its more like a shooter grade. I don't think would never be a 900 or better, he should come with better, and clear pictures.
Also what is the going price on 42 RC with a fair bore.

I'd put any RC gun in the $650-$850 range. And I'd personally be on the lower end of that estimate. Good shooters, however.

Thanks David, so for RC 650-700 is a fair market value. That is almost close to fair grade AM qvc P38.

Notice that the replacement links are both to the same gun, the"RC". I found the 1940, though. I agree that with the possible exception of the full side views, that these are some of the most terrible pics I've seen in quite a while! But they are sufficient, I think, to reveal the poor conditions of these pistols. The RC has been buffed and re-blued a long time ago. A G date should also have strawed small parts... The 1940, likely not buffed, but I think it's refinished due to bluing in the pits and scratches. Not much need for further pics, in this category. Always a bit sad to observe such examples. Buy for cheap or not at all.

I also agre with David; in any case "shooters" are not collectible but it doesn't mean that they are fit for shooting at the range, if you'll ever get a shooter have it properly checked first by a professional armourer.

Enjoy you Luger and shoot safe.

Sergio
