New, custom Luger grips!

Hand made from Burmese Rosewood by our own Jim Solomon:

On my '40 "42":

The pictures don't do them justice - Jim did a wonderful job!

At my request, he made them a bit thicker than is the norm, and the gun fits my hand better as a result. My own opinion of course, but I just think Rosewood makes a better looking grip.

very nice, Jim does wonderful work!

I would be more than glad to, but the "attach image" function doesn't allow for an upload. Obviously, I need a clue if there's a way to bypass same.

No, it is the "Khamsa" or "Hamsa", variously known as the "Hand of Fatima/Merriam/Mary/Goddess" (Depending on one's theological bent). Fingers upward as used here is a warding sign, downward bestows blessings.

Hmmm. A lotus flower would be pretty cool too - I have a small lotus tattoo in memory of my late father.

A-HA! Blundered around and found it - I was using the "insert image" button, which allows uploads on "some" boards, but not this one. Found the paperclip thingie. Thanx for the clue...

Cool! A fine lookin' set of grips!

I finally get to see a pair of Jim's Luger grips.....and I like them. I had ask Jim many, many months ago about some photos of his grips and he said he would send me some. I feel sure that he just got busy and forgot........now mind you, I don't ever forget anything :roflmao:!! Those are very nice looking. I am a diagnosed grip-a-holic, and there is no cure for me.

Jim Solomon 06-27-2015 03:01 PM

RHUFF,
so sorry, I had lost the message, but well remember your use of "grip-o-holic".......so if you still wish, PM me and we can attempt further discussion regarding your grip interest.....please accept my public apology.
Jim Solomon

Just another comment: Jim's reproduction recoil spring tool works GREAT! Sure beats the last time I took said spring out; that time it took a small screwdriver, both hands, one hip, and the lip of our slop sink to make things happen. Not to mention frequent references to that famous book "The Sailor's Guide to Magic Words and Incantations"!!

This time, with the proper tool, it was a snap! If you have a Luger, you NEED this tool!

What paperclip??? Just scroll down to the 'Attach Files' box beneath the 'Reply To' dialog box and follow the button instructions...

Rich, the "paper clip" appears at the top of the Advanced text box, just to the right of the smiley face. Clicking on it yields the "Manage Attachments" pop-up window, which looks the same as when approached by the other route at the bottom. I've never noticed it, either, but will give it a try next time. The paper clip also appears when composing a reply--It's up there as I type this.

For the sake of completeness, here's the picture after some tru-oil and outlining:

Zormpas, apologize for jumping on your thread, but felt it apropos :D See what I bought off of ebay

Totally un-cool to most folks, but Zormpas - like you - I like what I like. Your attitude is refreshing and I have said this before, but the membership surprised me and made me proud to be part of it because of acceptance.

Nice.

Here are my grips :)

Well-
Zormpas' grips are elegant, yours are ugly!:p

But whatever floats your boat is fine by me.

I like dogs and horses................

Zorba 09-20-2015 12:52 AM

With a little bit of cleaning up, refreshing the checkering, etc; those grips would be spectacular! Nice wood, nice design - I like the sheepdog in particular, but the horse is fine too.

These guys are just upset because they're not "Hello Kitty" grips!

Zormpas

Cool, really fine looking sets of grips!
