Mister luger?

Newby here! Do any of y'all know if this guy is a reputable seller? I see hi Lugers all over guns America & guns international. Any feedback will be greatly appreciated. Thx to all,syd

I have done business with this gentleman several times, and would recommend him highly. Easy, professional to work with, and delivers exactly what is promised.

if you are a newbie then try legacy collectibles. they have great stuff for about the same money.

ithacaartist 05-25-2015 09:54 AM

I sold him a pistol. No problems.

Edward Tinker 05-25-2015 10:20 AM

He seems like a decent guy - it just seems he has very nice looking lugers - a few I have had my doubts on.

I met him at an auction when he was just starting to buy lugers as a retirement 'hobby'.

Do a search on his name, he has been discussed before...

since you wanted to know syd: http://www.gunsinternational.com/42-...13BE82E5A07E5A some of his stuff looks ok, and then look at this. refinished for an original condition price.:biggulp: he offers an inspection, so that's good.

DavidJayUden 05-25-2015 01:47 PM

I've always watched his guns and his prices. Seems to have good stuff, but of course it is up to the buyer to have a critical eye. His prices seem to be about midway between collector-collector prices and store-front retail prices. If I was after a certain gun I'd not hesitate to give him a try.

He is in Lancaster, PA. What's up with Pennsylvania, anyway? We have our Ed Tinker, the (in)famous Eugene Golubstov (Lugerman), and Walter Smeddy (Mister Luger), and maybe more, actively involved in Luger-y activities, and located in the same general area of the state. I've been meaning to take a trip down there to descend upon all of them... What makes PA such a hotbed of the Parabellum?

Edward Tinker 05-25-2015 03:40 PM

luck :)

Tom from Legacy is in Paoli, PA but no storefront :)

Couple other collectors too, but they can yell out themselves (Michael and Mike) :D

El Syd 05-25-2015 08:13 PM

Thx to all for your input. I have looked at Legacy and his prices are reasonable and even his description of his guns tells you if he thinks there is a problem - like one where he mentions that a mag doesn't appear to be factory stamped. To me, that sounds pretty honest

Anybody have any feedback on Phoenix Investment Arms, DFW Arms?
Are there any dealers/sellers that you'd be weary of? Happy Memorial Day to all and a sincere "thank you" to any vets on this board, Syd

Seems like half the time I hook up with a guy to do a deal on a gun or ammo, he's literally down the road from me in PA. We do seem to have more than our share of "gun nuts"!

Vendors

Try Simpson LTD but the first question I would ask is it import marked?? They sold me one where it was not in the description. If you can have the gun in hand it is even better. Checkpoint Charlie seems to have some nice stuff. Never bought from him though.

El Syd 05-25-2015 08:52 PM

Yeah, I've looked at checkpoint Charlie's based on positive words on him from this forum. I'd like to see whom others have had good luck with. Simpsons sounds like the "go to" guys. I'm not looking for a "deal" on a luger - just a fair price for a correct Nazi era luger. Thx, Syd

If you read enough old posts here about Phoenix Investment Arms, you'd avoid them like an ISIS barbeque.

I like Legacy's photos. He by far is the better photographer. I think my next purchase will be from him. He will probably have something you are looking for. He has some nice Mausers.

I'll second that on the picture quality at Legacy; Simpson's
photos leave a lot to be desired, always dark- make everything look
"better", JMO; and not many of them either.

I just realized this was in the 'for sale' section?

I moved it to the New Collectors area....

...and I lived there, or called it home for about 50 of my 67 plus years...:bigbye:

Mr Luger

I have sold a pistol to Mr Luger and it was a very smooth transaction, I would not hesitate to do business with him in the future.
