original finish?

Is this original finish? I can see bluing in the pitting on the toggle train. It doesnt have halos but from browsing dealer websites 50 percent of similar guns dont have barrel halos. I was hoping someone could put a value on it too. thanks

Sorry, I really can't tell much from the photos. However I am concerned about those acceptance marks on the right side, as they seem to have been "obliterated". And if so, the fact that they are blued and not white would suggest re-blue. Let's see some close-ups including the numbers, muzzle, toggle pin, etc.

I think those marks are dove over ara4 marks. Wouldn't they obliterate the birds too? Also it's hard to get decent pics with my phone and with my work schedule. My main conscern is bluing in the pits on the train. I was hoping that would be dead giveaway . But maybe it was refinished by police? I have included a shot of the barrel with no halos.

Hi Wayne, If the receiver rails are blued, which they appear to be in your photo, then the gun has definitely been refinished. They should be "in the white".

Further noting the sear safety, a re-blue at the time of conversion is entirely possible, even probable, given past pitting. But don't jump off the ledge just yet, because reblued police guns seem more accepted among collectors than, say, a shined/over-buffed salt blue job done in the States. Same thing with "force-matched" numbered magazines. It's just how things were done.
