"K"date with scriptic S/42
 

what would be a fair price to pay for one without a matching number or year. the gun is all matching with that exception.i have only seen pictures. please give me prises for both 95% and 80%.

The Luger Book by Aarron Davis states:
Mauser S/42 K

Good - $950.00
V, Good - $2500.00
Excellent - $3000.00

31st Edition of Blue Book states:

80% $4160.00
90% 5215.00

I would say the blue book is closer - provided that it is matching and is correct (not faked, reblued or wrong parts)

but, what does this mean?

The year is the 'K'

matching magazine? Mismatched?

If mismatched then about 1/2 of what Aaron's price says IMHO

the magazine is later year, late 40s ibelieve

Hi James,
I specialize in collection K dates.
They are quite complicated.
Your chances of it being factory original are probably 1 in 4 based on my experience.
I would suggest you get an inspection period long enough to have Bob Simpson approve it.
