1914 Military
How does this one stack up? The description is a little crazy, but I guess every dealer sees Nazis behind the bristles of his toothbrush...

Don't look half bad for being 100.
That wooden mag. bottom looks too good to be true, and I'd want to re-learn if the stamping is correct for a WW1 military mag. bottom. I assume that is the primary mag. with no + sign? Overall I like it and will be interested what the hammer falls at. dju |
David, the mag looks fine to me. Pistol looks good after a quick look, also.

I was looking at bidding this one too. The wood grip panels are nice!
I think sometimes the seller will just stick the word Nazi in the description to drum up interest. In the end, it's just another common 1916, and pretty dry inside with some rust starting. And what happened to the back of the toggle, where the serial # is? I don't think I have ever seen so much wear/damage in that spot - it looks like it was sanded down. But it wouldn't surprise me to see it go for $1900 or more. - Geo |
I think there was rust on the rear of the toggle that was rubbed off with something really abrasive... like sandpaper. The pistol looks like a bringback trophy that was neglected in a dresser drawer for decades. All-in-all, I would say a nice genuine piece of history.

$2255 and still one day left - Some one is going to end up paying retail+ price for this one!
BTW, I did not mean to disparage 1916 Lugers - I have two. It's just that I see them all the time. Geo- |
