Jerry Burney, (Lugerholsterrepair), here on this site can repair this holster's stitching to a degree that equals or exceeds the original factory. You would need to discuss leather treatment and /or further restoration with him.

I feel that any holster that is almost 100 years old, desirable and is basically sound, should be rescued.

Holster repair

Vesuvio,
I would like to second the endorsement of Jerry Burney's work. He is an excellent and honest craftsman who you will give you an unbiased assessment of your holster. If you choose to have him do the work you will not be disappointed. In both instances that I have asked for his assistance, he has responded quickly.

Regards,
Ricardo

Antonio..Boy! Hard to say..is it worth it? Of course the top can be stitched back on. Hard to say what other stitching problems there might be once the holster is closely inspected. The thread used 100 years ago was a plant fiber that gradually weakens.
The worst part is the top and toe surface flaking off. One then has to wonder about the overall general leather condition. It would be easy to invest $60-80 bucks and still end up with a holster that is pretty well..worn. I hate to tell people how to spend their money. Honestly I have a 55 gallon barrel of holster scraps and most of those look in better condition? As a conservator I hate to see any holster die..as a collector I have to be concerned about where I put my hard earned after tax dollars. For me..I wouldn't put much into this one...I know I sound like a Mother rejecting her baby but it's in pretty bad shape? It's a tossup I guess.
The leather at the toe has to be kinda thin. On the plus side it has a very nice magazine pouch!
Thank to both of you fellows for your comments..
