Shown this one before...a cartridge collector told me circa 1917. Ed- the Peters one is cool... never seen that one before.

The two 7.65mm are full, its the 9mm that is empty.

I have a few 'newer' 1950-s / 1960's boxes too

Ya know, you can re-fill those empty boxes... :D

Just sayin' ;);)

Here are a few from my collection, all 7.65mmP. The 2 piece boxes still factory sealed.

SteveM,

I can not see your photos because you hosted them on Photobucket. Many of the senior members here are still working full time, like myself, and are behind either corporate or government firewalls which prohibit viewing of public photo storage sites on the internet. That is why we strongly encourage all photos to be displayed in a post to be uploaded here on the Lugerforum and not just linked from another source.

The other problem with hosting on sites other than here on the Lugerforum is that the external sites often reorganize their file structure and the photo links already used go dead... future readers can not see what you posted. Please repost your photos after uploading here.

 7.65 Parabellum hollow soft point bullets?! I really should get into reloading...

How much would a decent vintage ammo box go for without the cartridges?

Depends on the type, year made and condition.

50's - 60's is about $20-$30

early stuff, depends on if full box and of course condition.

Here let me take a picture of some more I have (I like picking it up) :)

The receipt is for the nice box of Remington :)

I tried to upload them to the forum but it didn't like the file size. I have all of my photos on photobucket and the links to them copied in a text file on my laptop. Was a little rushed this morning so I just copied the links instead of trying to resize. I guess I'm lazy...I'll see about resizing them tomorrow.

Ed, that receipt is too much! $0.12 per round, when the heck was that?

nukem556 02-20-2015 10:12 PM

Ok...a lot of nice vintage .30 Luger boxes....I want to see one that says it's made for the carbine! (The early Remington boxes specifically state "not adapted for carbine" )

Hi,

An unusual note, the older Remington boxes call the cartridges "central fire" rather than "center fire"

I've never heard this usage before.

Found some of my old 9 mm ammo boxes. Thought it would be fun to show them.:D
Notice the odd USCC ammo. Very pointed and a unusual cannelure.
I was wondering, what other pistol besides the luger used the 9 mm bullet in the 20's?

C96 Mauser
And there was a copy of the C96 (Model 900) made by Astra in Spain that was made in 9mm.

Surely there were a few others.
