Luger tool proof mark

2 Attachment(s)
Gentlemen,
I just received my proof marked luger tool. It is 1.9 mm thick and has what appears to be a three lobbed crown over a gothic letter "G". It has some patina. Would this be a good match for my 1912 Erfurt or would it go more with a DWM pistol and is this a common or rare proof mark?

Thank you,
Ricardo

Ricardo, Here's a little camera tip. White backgrounds reflect light into your lens and on auto setting this closes the lens..too much light. Consequently you tool does not show but as a black blob. Pick up your tool, hold it in your hand in front of the lens..move around in the room until the light is perfect on the tool in your viewfinder. SNAP! Perfect pic of the marking.

Jerry,
Thank you for the suggestion. Hopefully the attached pictures are a bit clearer.

A correction on the tool thickness as I previously measured it at the wrong location. It is actually 2.5 mm thick.

That is an Erfurt tool and would match your Erfurt Luger if one of the acceptance marks on the Luger has the C/G.
Erfurt tools are always “unblued/ blank” and have always a 3 lobe crown while DWM tools are "blued" and have mostly a 4 lobe crown. Erfurt and DWM tools have a different shape.
I add a pic to show the differences...

Sir,
Yes, my Luger also displays the crown over "G" acceptance mark. Is this tool with the C/G marking considered rare or one of the more common tools? I ended up paying just a bit over a hundred dollars for it which is more than I wanted and expected to pay for a tool but it was from a reputable seller with whom I have dealt with in the past. As these are often faked, I was hesitant to pursue other sources.

Regards,
Ricardo
