Loading tool-real or repro

Gentlemen,
Is this tool offered on e-bay original or a repro and if original would it be from the Imperial era?

Thank you,
Ricardo

Revshop is a known faker/booster. I would avoid doing business with them.

klaus 3338 01-25-2015 03:27 AM

...but this one is original.

Revshop has lots of cleaned up parts - but he also carries real stuff.... I have bought stuff from him once or twice and I have steered clear of him. You have to know what you are buying. knowledge is everything

Can anyone shed light on the significance of the numbers on the tool?

klaus 3338 01-25-2015 12:12 PM

It has an Imperial acceptance, a crown over underlined S with some crossed out numbers on some numbers on the backside. It is a typical Imperial tool which was used by the police during the Weimar time.

He lists a lot of (way overpriced IMHO) grips. I asked him once if a pair was refinished--because I noticed mistakes in the checkered pattern that were obviously a result of refreshing--and he replied that he didn't know, they came from someone else, and they were "perfect". Codswallop!!

Well, I just came back from church and was about to buy it when I noticed someone beat me to the punch. Maybe I will get lucky next time and find something original n my price range.

Okay- can you give me opinions on this tool and what the numbers on it mean? Would it be WW1 or later?

Thank you,
Ricardo

Ricardo, the new ebay tool has a Mauser shape- so it is made in 1935 or later...
I do not know if you can read German but may be it can help....
You can try: http://militaria-fundforum.de./showthread.php?t=243112

Klaus, thank you for your guidance. I just located a proofed Luger tool for what looks like a reasonable price from a reputable dealer. Not as good a price as the first tool but still for a lot less than most others that I have seen.
