Serial number 126 b date code.

#126 b
1920 dwm on the top of the barrell. No other stamps other than variations of the serial number. What can y'all tell me about it's origins. Thanks

I think it is a hybrid because the top numbers say 12 instead of 26 or 126 like the rest

I realize this is in the wrong forum but I don't know enough about them to know what forum to put it in. If I had to guess I would say it was a commercial Luger. If that is the case the moderator can move it.

Pictures would help.

'appears' to be a 1920 made, DWM that has been reblued

a date would say army or police - likely army

Ok thank you very much. How can you tell. I want to learn. Shooting is only half the fun. Learning is the rest.

x_man586 11-04-2014 08:04 PM

And why is the top stamped with number 12? Are the parts from another pistol?

wlyon 11-04-2014 08:06 PM

Has been heavily buffed and reblued. Look for color, rounded edges, faint or eroded serial numbers. Generally, like this one, they pop right out some others not so easy. Yes the toggle has been replaced by another luger s part. Should make a good shooter. Happy collecting and welcome to the Forum. Bill

Cool that is what I thought about the mismatched numbers. Thanks.

On all of the military pistols I see here they have markings on the right side. Mine has no markings of any kind on the right.
