Reminds me of the 1/4 -turn system on the Ithaca Model 37, but a single lug instead of threads...

An interrupted thread would be my choice as well. Just twist it on, maybe with a soft spanner to tighten it.

I don't quite see why the big lump has been added to the front of the frame... :rolleyes:

It doesn't seem to do anything (barrel related)...The locking plunger is housed in the screw-in adapter...That lug has nothing to do with the barrel locking...

I'm still wondering about the frame cuts...It almost looks like the frame has been cut in half diagonally...And the two halves just positioned on the cannon assembly for this photo shoot...

Because of the way the frame has been cut and apparently set up to be longer, I would speculate that the original perpetrator of this design had intended to use a cartridge that had a much longer overall length than the standard 9mm round.

Perhaps a wildcat cartridge, or something line 7.63mm Mauser or Tokarev? .30 Caliber Carbine? or 9mm Longo? or 9mm Bergmann?

The grips would also require a redesign. At minimum would be offset grips scews, like a Browning High Power's, if this is the final machining of the frame. .

Wouldn't the breechblock/toggle assembly have to be lengthened as well??? :confused:

And the barrel extension/"receiver"??? Maybe the sear bar??? And isn't there a hold-open in that area???

Ambitious project...Any chance that this was an exercise by John Martz??? :)

Martz split and joined two frames vertically front to back to achieve enough size for the .45 ACP. I don't think this was a Martz rejected project... just someone's folly :D
