Please post some pictures
of "Strawed P.08s" and the " Hump" that I might better understand this terms?

Do a search on the site using the search feature and you will turn up a number of informative threads.

I've highlighted the hump in the receiver of this 1941 Mauser Luger in red:

I've circled two strawed parts on this 1916 DWM Luger:

Straw parts and Mauser "hump" have been extensively explained in the FAQ and introduction part of this site.
|
When ever I go to the FAQs and ask about Mauser hump I get "Sorry - no matches. Please try some different terms." Same with strawed Luger parts.

It should take you to the main page, then you click on General Information or the technical pages or something else. If you click on FAQ and then go to where the earlier link I posted, it takes you direct to the FAQ Right here >>>> http://forum.lugerforum.com/showthread.php?t=13121 However, I copied the words and the picture from the FAQ. If this is not the info you need, then I am really unsure what else we can tell you on that specific question |
Edward Tinker, yes that takes me where I need to go and answer my questions but, the FAQ at the top of page does not? New here and don't know the ropes yet.
Thank you, Steve |
if you click on FAQ at top of page, what's does it say one inch below?
FAQ for collector.... |
No, it doesn't. Is there some rule about so many posts before full privileges?
Steve |
Edward Tinker and others, mind you I have absolutely no experience with this but, since I recently purchased a Luger as a shooter I did the Semi Chrome test on it. The results were nothing I've ever seen before the Q Tip was covered in deep brown? Again, I have no experience with this process and don't claim anything of the results. Did save the Q Tip and could take photos with my cell phone to send to anyone who, possibly, could make a determination, if I have their cell number? My email should be available through my identity on this forum?

Steve, that just shows that it has patina on it. I would still clean it well, but not worry that it was rusting, I think thats okay.
This is what I see when I click on the FAQ at the top of the page. The other two ways I was trying to lead you were on a page at the technical and other info and the second is in the new collector area... The 2nd one does take you to the same link as this one below |
As of yet, I've never seen any of what you posted last??? Are you getting to this from the opening page before clicking on the forum?
Also, I was referring to the age testing on the FAQ page you posted not rust worries. Steve |
