Beats me...
Welcome aboard. I think that you are combining un-related terms. Straw refers to a light brown golden color that heat treating causes, generally seen on the DWM guns. Straw is the color. "Hump" is generally used to describe a slight bump or bulge on the back of the barrel extension on the later Mauser mfg. guns, just behind the toggle pivot pin. The hump is designed to not allow the toggle pin to come out during normal firing function. Hope this helps, but if I'm on the wrong track feel free to let me know. dju |
dju, I've tried to use the FAQ but, most pictures there don't open for me? I, since, have learned through reading threads, that the hump was added and where it was, to keep things together while firing? Thanks for your assistance.
