Luger Presentation Box - Pictures
4 Attachment(s)
I came in to possession of 2 nice Luger Presentation wooden presentation boxes. However, their barrel cutouts are for a longer barrel than my wife's inherited Luger. I.e., hers will not fit because of the front sight. Hers has what appears to be a 4" barrel. Or something close. These boxes look like they are for a barrel about 2 inches longer. Did the Artillery version or another have a longer barrel? These are fitted boxes with lined cutouts. Right now, trying to find out what barrel lengths were made. I will try to take pictures and post.

Navy Lugers had 6in. bbls. and Artillery Luger sported 8in. bbls.

The cutouts meant to receive the pistols accommodate the Artillery's rear sight leaf, just fore of the receiver at the back end of the barrel. So, these are for the Arty. Barrels are measured from breech block face with the action closed--not just the part of the barrel that sticks out of the receiver. An Arty barrel is virtually 8". These look very well made, though the boxes have no obvious accommodation for extra mag or other accessories.

Thanks Ithicaartist. Now I need to find 2 people with artillery models. Will post in Accessories.

It appears that the lids of the boxes have compartments that allow for accessories.

I hope so. Otherwise there's a lot of wasted space there.

PM's have been sent, and waiting for a reply.
