Help identifying a weapon

10 Attachment(s)
My father obtained this during WW-II. I have taken pictures of all the numbers and letters and I would like to know as much as I can about this so I can pass it down with all the info I can get. The grips and the finger holds on the magazines appear to be wood. Any help would be greatly appreciated. And maybe a tip or two on how to restore the magazines.

Looks like a nice original 1938 Mauser. It should have aluminum based magazines, so I'd avoid messing with the wooden ones: Sell them or trade them for the correct ones. Try to restore them and it will only hurt their value and still have the wrong ones.
Post soem photos of the magazines. We have a mag. specialist here who can chime in.
Very nice gun!

For what we can see I think it's quite a nice gun in very good conditions, although not really rare, a well kept 1938 Luger it's always a nice collectible.

Congratulations.

Sergio
