Intersting Holster

I was looking for a holster for a 1915 DWM and ran across this on ebay. I could not find to much info on J.Sigle&Cei, but that he was well know for his shoe making. but must have made holster for the luger P08.

Here is the link:

I think someone is paying some tuition to luger university on that one. John

yes, kind of cool holster, nice appearance, but some red ? flags ...

WaA mark on a 1916 dated holster seems incorrect as WaA system marks seems started after 1933 ( so perhaps sales talk could include that it was reworked, etc )

http://www.ask.com/wiki/Waffenamt_co...apn&ap=ask.com ( and various others )
also seems WaA136 is for
aA136 cdg Auwärter und Bubeck Stuttgart 1934
WaA136 Hans Deuter Augsburg 1934

try google image search with "holster WaA136"
random sample has a backside marking on image #4 that looks much different
http://www.luftwaffe-militaria.com/f...uipment/76.htm

but ebay seller has 14 days return marked and 100% lots of sales ok

about 15 hours to go - I suspect one of the holster gurus here will respond - it is an interesting case

I was also curious, but wont be bidding, have no involvement in the sale , etc

happy hunting !
Bill

i think the mag pouch was not part of same piece of leather of the back until in the 1920s sometime? shape of knot on pulling strap is not right shape too.

Yes Ben on both counts(mid 30's I believe ).. Bill caught the Waa 0n a 1916 holster thing. The list goes on and on....

Here's a test for you guys, how do you tell the difference between an Imperial and a Third Reich P08 holster from the front?
Regards, Norm

Too easy. I won't spoil your fun.

does the wwi holster have a third short line of stitches on the buckle closing strap? this extra line is in the middle of the other two lines.

here some samples
