Holster unit marking
Gentlemen,
I am in the process of purchasing a 1910 unit marked P08 holster. The seller states that the holster is marked with "UR7" on the flap. Would anyone know which unit this would be associated with? It is made by Becker, Elberfelt. Thank you, |
Possibly Uhlan (Lancer), Regiment #7. Can you post photos?

Holster markings
Norme-thank you for the quick reply. I will post pictures as soon as I have holster in hand next week. It was described to me over the phone.

I have the pistol for it.

UR7 holster
George,
What year is the pistol and is it manufactured by Erfurt or DWM? I will post pictures once the holster is in hand. |
The pistol is a 1910 dated DWM.

Ur7 holster
Well George, I wonder what the statistical chances are of that happening-pretty rare I would venture to say. I doubt that there were many 1910 DWM lugers in a unit that size and fewer leather holsters to have survived. From what I have read, this unit started out on the western front. Many of the Lancers were said to have been transferred to the eastern front at some point as that terrain was more favorable to their employment but I don't know whether or not this was one of them.
Anyway, this holster is as close a match that I have been able to find for my 111 Regt marked 1912 Erfurt luger. |
I have a few 1912 dated holsters.

Looks like there is a deal here to be made that benefits you and George Anderson……………………… |
I have a holster with unit marking and pistol Number. It has 2 K.D. 13; pistol # 1644, on the front of the holster and on the inside of the flap is 2 K.D. #14. The interior construction is similar to a 1934 but this one also has a holder for a pin punch. No stampings on the rear.
Any help with what year it is? It was sold to me as a 1932. I saw where someone stated the other day that there are no 1932 holsters. That got me to start searching my files and documents. Thanks Jack |
Jack, may be it´s a commercial holster that was used in the Army. I have seen a few examples. A photo would be helpful. The unit can be 2. cavalry division.
