Patience pays

Greetings from South Louisiana,
For lack of something else to do, I sat in front of my computer Friday, Saturday and Sunday and watched EVERY Luger that went on the block during the Rock Island Auction. I thought if I waited long enough, one or more Lugers would go through somewhat un-noticed. I was actually waiting for a 1937 Dutch Mauser Banner to come on the block when this beautiful 1906 DWM commercial came by. The Luger was mounted in a striking display case with, besides the Luger, there is a take down tool, cleaning rod, pin removal tool, and two extra commercial mags in addition to the Cal 9 mag mounted in the pistol. The Luger has 98% original finish and completely matched. It is BUG proofed with NO GERMANY stamp. The hammer price was $2500.00, which I feel is a very fair price.
Mike

BTW: I got the Dutch Banner for the same price.

Would you happen to remember what the unit marked, 1910 DWM rig with 2 matching magazines sold for?

RIA does not yet have the list of realized prices for the auction up yet, unless I have missed something.

Boy, you had to wait nearly all day for the fish to bite, but when it did you landed a whopper! Good going, it looks like a dandy. And a Dutch banner to boot...very nearly two guns for the price of one :)

+1 on what Ron said Mike... You must be a fisherman to be patient enough to wait for a deal, but you didn't hesitate when it came. Congrats!
