Tool and Holster verification

Hey all,
I am looking at the below holster and tool for purchase. Are these original and authentic? What timeframe would the tool be with the stamp it has on it (if it is original)? Thanks, Brian Attachment 42964 Attachment 42965 Attachment 42966 Attachment 42967 |
Weird..The shape of the tool is more Mauser than DWM . Maybe one of the tool experts will chime in.
The holster is marked 13 for 1913 yet marked inside with 1914. Both marks look legitimate..Someone who knows more about this stuff will have to comment. Either way the holster looks alright..Original. |
Maybe manufactured in 1913 and issued in 1914? Just my guess.
|
John, Looks like it's unit marked above the 1914? That may have been done at the same time?
|
Jerry,
I think you are correct...I suspect the 1914 marking is a property mark. It looks like "15IR" which is a bit unusual, but it might be for Infantry Regiment 15 |
Ron, I know 1920 is a Weimar property mark..but 1914? Can you finish that thought for me? It would be a new one on me and I am always happy to learn something cause I forget something every day!
Fat finger typo! I suspect the 1914 marking is a property mark. |
I suspect the 1914 marking is a property mark is what I wanted clarity on?

Ah ha! I WAGed that the 1914 in conjunction with the IR15 was a property mark...i.e. the date was applied when the holster entered into the Infantry Regiment 15 property books.
|
The unit mark is of the Bavarian 15 Infantry Regiment and the tool is the most often seen Imperal tool and correct.
