Magazine search question.
 

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone knows of any good contacts when trying to find a matching magazine to my Luger. I Know it's a long shot but worth a try.

Ryan, did you see the magazine matching threads here on the forum?

There is not an easy way to match it up, persistence and lots of luck. Don Hallock used to keep a running list, but he stopped a few years ago.

Yes sir I did see the thread for parts matching on Jan's luger forum. I keep searching and will keep searching I refuse to believe all the magazines that are matched to mine are gone forever... At least I hope that's not the case :rolleyes: just didn't know if there are some reputable folks who have a lot of magazines or if there was a database setup to help locate.

Ryan, Just because some luger serial numbers (including suffix letter) were repeated in various years, doesn't mean that any of them would be truly matching to your pistol. In addition to the numeric digits and suffix letter (if present on frame) and WaA (if appropriate), to be considered "original matching", the mag must have the correct period type tube, finish and bottom (wood, aluminum or plastic). In my opinion, there are only 2 "original factory" mags made of each luger, with the exception of some Police issued lugers, where a 3rd one (or more) were added later by the Police as needed. TH

Thank you for the information LugerDoc, but correct me if I am wrong the KM Mauser mags (from what I thought, and read) were matched by serial number, and property number. My 1940 Kreigsmarine N4425 592 has the magazine from N4422 109. I am thankful to have a N prefix magazine, but would love to pair up pistol with its original magazine. And vice versa if I found the owner of N4422 109 if it still exists:confused: I would happily reunite the pair.
