1918 dwm
4 Attachment(s)
Just picked up a 1918 DWM with a sear safety. I believe these are military acceptance marks on the right side but not sure - there are four of them. All parts are marked with either 9273 (not sure of letter) or 73. Read somewhere that 1918 is somwhat of an odd bird?

By odd bird do you mean not many produced or the fact that it has a sear safety? It is estimated that DWM produced about 118,000 in 1918 and it is anybody's guess how many were put into police service requiring a sear safety. Curt

If I am not mistaken, DWM 1918s are fairly common. In fact, I have seen many 1918s that are in almost mint condition with 2 matching mags. This, I believe, is because many were not even issued before the war ended.
I am not a luger guru; but, maybe one of the other gurus will chime in on this. Richard |
