I think the picture shown is bogus~ it looks chromed and the barrel seem to long!

Eric,

No, that is the Sid Aberman Luger. Its just a bad photograph.

The Greg Martin auction was a fiasco as I recall. There was a long que of bids in the pipeline when the hammer came down; thus cutting the value of the million dollar Luger in half, not considering whether it was ever truly a million dollar Luger in the first place.

Its twin is in the R.W. Norton Museum in Shreveport, LA

Yes, sad but true. Her daughter was a contestant on some TV "got talent" program about a year ago. I'll never forget watching FloJo run in those striped spandex suits she wore so well.

Florence Joyner, great woman Olympic runner, embroiled in PED controversy...I watched a lot of TV in that time period, she was a record holder in several distances...Pretty too...

There's a link at the bottom of that LA Times 2010 newspaper article you linked to...

No need to be caustic. :) I was shocked; 'FloJo' was only 38...

I always thought Lyle Alzado was an extreme case...But it appears that he was only one of the early demises... :(
