Luger Questions
Hi,
I inherited a luger from my father who got it from his grandfather. I have no idea what it is worth and I was a bit surprised to learn that it could be worth a lot of money. It has the holster with a clip in it and one in the gun. How do I go about finding out what it is worth? Thanks, |
welcome to the forum
a lot of money is subjective - as everything depends on condition, type, rarity and condition See the how o guide at the top of this same forum for how and what to post lots of pictrues and lots of description could be worth $500 - could be worth $2500 - likely worth around 1K Ed |
Take some good sharp pictures and include closeups on all markings. Take them in natural shaded light (outdoors) and use a tripod and digital camera with a self timer - to avoid camera shake.
As Ed mentions, the value of Lugers can range quite broadly depending on many things. To be collectible it should be in a high original finish condition with all matching numbered parts. Marc |
Well I took some quick pics with my phone. I tried to upload them but couldn't figure it out. I did make a photo album called Tazo Luger Pics.

Congratulations on a great inheritance!
Pictures are dark but it looks like you have a nice 1937 S/42 with one matching magazine. Serial number 4650t. With the holster and extra magazine maybe around $2000- $2400. Tom |

Post pics of any/all markings on the holster, describe its condition. Collectors like interesting holster markings. :) |
