New Here With My 1908
Just joined here! Have always liked the Luger and now I have a 1908 DWM. All original except the magazine. Not pristine but pretty good. I like that it is the model that became the P08.

Very nice...the first German Army Luger. A 1908 First Issue is a very desirable gun and yours appears to be in excellent condition. The magazine is of course an aftermarket item but the rest of the gun looks great. And by the way, it did not become the P08...it is the P08.

Wow! If that is the original finish it is WAY above average. The straw coloring is exceptional. Do you feel that the finish is original?

Remarkable condition! Congrats on acquiring such a nice example and welcome to the forum.

Hi Briant, Welcome to the forum! Your DWM 1st Issue looks very fine and, as far as I can tell, has not been refinished. It does not appear to have been retro-fitted with a hold-open, am I correct? If not it was likely issued to a Bavarian unit.
Regards, Norm |
Very nice, welcome to the forum!

You must have very high standards....I'd call this pistol a bit better than "pretty good" !

She's PURTY! Welcome to the forum!

I want to thank everyone for their warm welcome!
Some responses to questions asked: Ron Wood - Thank you for setting me straight about it BEING the P08! As a novice, I appreciate being as accurate as possible. DavidJayUden - I bought this with the understanding that it was all original, matching numbers and original finish. Only the magazine was not original to the gun. Norme - You are correct that it has not been retro-fitted with a hold open. Thanks for the info about it likely being issued to a Bavarian unit. nukem556 - Funny you mention having "high standards" because I DO have a few including the 102 "Space Guns" :-) ! Bryant |
Bryant, that's an excellent 1908 model. Are there any unit markings on the front grip strap?
|
Hi George,
There are no markings on either the front or back strap. Thanks for the positive comment! Bryant |
Hi Bryant, and welcome to the forum. Congratulations on such a nice Luger!

Hi pianolist!
May I ask what serial number your pretty First issue have? Best regards from Germany, Tom |
