Old Luger Food

Found a fairly old box of ammo to go with my 1900....Its not super early DWM, but I only paid a little more than a new box of Winchester goes for ! It's still sealed, which is cool....except for the temptation to open it!:banghead:

Cool!!!

"Not adapted for carbine"...Did UMC also make 30 Luger carbine ammunition back then???

Good question.... all I've ever heard of was the now super rare DWM stuff. I'd kinda doubt it. I'm sure pistols outnumbered carbines in the US probably 100 to 1.

That is a great box of ammo! I haven't found one yet and yours is still sealed. Good going.

I think I have a box like this - but of course NOT opened like yours - very cool find!

Great box of ammo. What is it worth sealed and then opened?

Opening a nice sealed box like this would be roughly equivalent to restoring a 97% original finish Luger IMO.

Nice addition to the collection!

Box is in good shape. Wonder where it has been hiding all these years.

A cartridge collector I know goes around to small, rural, long established gunshops and asks to root around in their back shelves. He tells me it is amazing what turns up shoved way in the back of top shelves sometimes. Unsold cartridge boxes often turn up this way.

Who was Powell and how did he come to creating such an iconic device??

Could you make some X-rays?:jumper:

Eric,
Probably need to start a new thread for Powell and Cartridge Counter. This thread is about early ammo.
