Looks like a Gotha Bomber.

Ron Wood 04-25-2014 05:17 PM

It might be a Dehavilland D.H. 10 bomber and it also resembles the British Handley, but I am sure that George is right and that it is a Gotha.

Ron I think you both nailed it!! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Airco_DH.10 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fmmkpFG4wWs and https://www.flickr.com/photos/landoni/4822581933/ ~Eric

Dehavilland D.H. 10, I think you're right.

Good call! I guessed Handley-Page.

Definitely a cool picture. Especially since it is linked to someone related to you. I love old history that people can link back that far and show their heritage. It would really be cool to know the whole story behind the plane in the photo. Good stuff Eric!

TKS Ron correctly identified as a Dehavilland Bomber. Its amazing it landing in a field in Germany and I have an actual picture. Its something you can see how they were dressed. Another moment in time!
