Black grips.

Read a post on here a couple of weeks ago about black grips. The grips made by Vit were highly recommended. Purchased a pair on Ebay Fitted them up today and just a small bit of filing on the bottom ends and they fit just like they came with the gun.
For someone who wants to protect their wood grips might want to check them out.

hayhugh, shoot us some pics.

Go to Ebay and search for Luger black grips. Look for site with Vit-Zemanek. Has back and front photos, only thing I can add is they are shiny and easy to fit. Top need no filing and bottoms just start filing from the inside until they fall into place.

hayhugh, I'm the one who's advice you read on Vit's grips. I just wanted to see a picture of your gun with them fitted. Thanks

I'll post some photos tomorrow.

Looks good. Now your piece mimics mine, mecgar mag and all.

Are they closer to the originals in fit? I was under the impression that repro's are more often way out of spec and are difficult to fit.

Only required filing on the inside of the bottoms until they fell into place. Really feel good in your hand. I would recommend if you want to replace wood grips for any reason.

These seem to fit very good. Cheap too. I might reconsider my quest for custom wood replacements. I know all 'replacements" are just that, replacements, but somehow (in MY mind) my Imperial Erfurt calls for wood, not plastic. I don't know, still torn about this.

Yeah, ....this DOES NOT work for me.

Thank you guys,....you just made up my mind. My Erfurt Parabellum will wear custom made wood grips for shooting. Jim Solomon is working on the design as we speak, and between two of us, I'm sure we can come up with something "custom" (I don't want just plain "replacements",....looking for some custom engraving,....something that will make my pride and joy "mine").

That might look nice, but I am not considering refinishing it. It's in perfect working order, with "been there, done that" kind a look. All I want to do is preserve the original grips, and fit something "special" for shooting/carry.

I recently had a WWI Erfurt that was redone to a Police style and it came with original black grips that I believe were unit level or depot level replacement grips at some point during WWII.

Daniel e Sergio, Ciao e Buon Giorno Amici...

Che è abbastanza incredibile. Ricordo con molto piacere anche e'stato molti anni fa ero di stanza a Livorno/Pisa (1976-1981), e Vicenza e Ceggia (1986-1988)! ...assolutamente una bellissima volta in vita mia...
