A nice historic tid-bit, Eric. Of course, Jenny McCarthy would worry needlessly about the soldier's "risk" of autism!

OK, now, the form says Pvt., but it came from the pocket of a jacket with three stripes? What's up with that?

That is a mystery!!!Good Point~AA is army Air Force I presume~

The pvt. rank is what he was when the record was first issued. They don't issue a new record every time they give you a shot. You don't remember that?

Thanks Hugh, mystery solved~

Quite the opposite! That's the anti-aircraft artillery command patch. As you can see from his shot record he was in the 383rd CA (Coast Artillery) initially. The 383rd was redesignated as an AA battallon before they shipped out to the Pacific in 1944.

Sorry, no, they didn't immunize in the first semester of ROTC--which is far as I got.

The same is true of shot records that you get for international travel. You just keep making entries until there is no more space to make them... then you can usually get some supplemental pages... Shot records don't expire, they just mature with age, unlike humans... :D

I am turning 67 in October, ...goin' on 30!

Confirmed that the flight suit belonged to General David C. Jones when he was a pilot with the U.S Army Air Force in the forties. Became Chairman of the Joint Chief of staff serving under 2 presidents. Also Head of Norad. He was on the covers of both Life and Times magazines~ Nice Find!http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Categor...f_World_War_II

The General died last year at 92~ http://www.nytimes.com/2013/08/15/us...t-92.html?_r=0 And how his uniform wound up in my closet is a happy mystery. Thank you all for all your continued patience with my compulsive behavior~~~Eric

In the 60s I collected German uniforms.
Some guys I knew got hooked up with an old lady in Germany who would scour neighborhoods and get lots of things still hanging in closets.
Every couple months a big box would show up and it was a hoot to see what she had found.
Waffenrocks were the most common followed by anything else you could imagine.
A general's overcoat and a black SS hauptampt tunic stand out.
Most had eagles removed or swastikas clipped.
You'd find them in pockets along with change, tickets and dog tags.
Best piece I got was an assault gun Captains wrapper-worth about $50 then.
I kept an infantry crusher I paid $5 for.
