More Flea Market DWM 9mm ammo?
5 Attachment(s)
Well, Still searching for old .30 Luger and 9 mm Luger at the flea markets. Found this box today. Have yet to research STYER CAL. 9 MM. You can see as pictured it was made by DWM as a export ( I guess) and marked "Made in Germany". Pictures show box and round size. Much longer than a 9mm Luger. Brass is marked, "DWM 577 K-K". I take the STEYR is a automatic that this ammo is made spl. for. Looking for any info date of mfg. and pistols that makes us of this ammo.
Thanks, Bill Oh, did find two boxes of Fiocchi .30 Luger. $30 a box at the market also. |
OK, Did some research. I see STEYR has manufactured pistols for many years. I take it was fairly
common during WW1. I see other old STEYRs converted to 9mm Luger. Did the German military use STEYR pistols during WW1? I take pistols chambered for this cartridge are no longer made. Still would like to know some history. Thanks, Bill |
Answered more of my questions. I take it was chambered for the STEYR M1912 auto and the Bavarian army used 16,000 M1912s during WW1 and Germany, during WW2, converted 60,000 M1912s to the "PUNY" (not my words) German 9mm Luger. I guess there must be some interesting proof marked M1912s around.

I wonder if the 9mm Steyr is the same case as 9x21mm?

Nope, even longer!
