What do I have here...?
10 Attachment(s)
Hi all. Just wondering if anyone could tell me more about what I have here, and the approximate value. I have attached some pictures, but let me know if there is any other information from the pistol needed.

I will let others comment on your pistol (looks like a buffed and refinished model 1900 AE to me).
My question is: Does that pistol fit in that holster. It may be a photographic optical illusion, but it looks like a holster for a standard 4" barrel P.08, and your barrel looks like 4.75" long? Unless the gun fits perfectly in the holster and the flap closes easily, the two don't belong together... BTW, Welcome to the Lugerforum. I'll take it a bit further to suggest that it is a 1906 American Eagle in .30 cal. Highly buffed and reblued, with the straw coloring being forgotten during the process. I'm not really up on these things, but will go out on a limb to suggest that the gun is worth around $1000-$1200 with the mismatched military holster probably another $200.
But the numbers and markings are not well photo'ed, so my estimates may change as information continues to come in. Like John said, Welcome aboard! dju |

Sorry for the wrong orientation but here are additional photos of the holster/gun. Ill get better ones of the markings.

This gun and holster are definitely not "together"
If you stretch the cover flap to fit over this pistol you are doing the historical holster an injustice... The barrel will eventually tear through the nose of the decades old holster... and ruin it, and its value. ...and thanks for updating your profile! |
David is very generous in that valuation, in my opinion. There's nothing in my eyes more offensive that can be done to a Luger, than buffing the metal down to a smeared ugly mess with not a straight line left on it. I'd say 300-350 for parts

The holster looks like a repro that has been aged...
Note the uneven stitching; the round holes in the closure strap. i'm not an expert, but it doesn't look right to me... Marc |
The condition of the side plate scares me, I would be afraid to use as a shooter!

the eagle on chamber looks to be maybe a retry impression of some sort over an original image after perhaps pitting removed from that area
lower ring edge in the area behind the front sight looks blurred suggesting heavy polishing perhaps to remove pitting left side frame rail is reduced in size and rounded that suggests heavy polishing , as does the clearance between the silde and frame in the front below barrel view so is likely a shooter if someone wants a 30 luger and also the bore is at least 50% grooves maybe $700 value honest retail good luck Bill |
Welcome to this forum.
It's surely a DWM 1900/06 American Eagle not professionally rebufffed, proibably a good "shooter" also depends on the barrel. The holster still doesn't look right to me. IMHO Sergio |
