Jerry,

This appears to be an interesting tool, but I have not seen this before. If yo have a copy of Bender's book on Luger holsters and accessories, he has a section on the sub-caliber inserts. This tool may be shown in that section.

Some speculation on it's use...

The design of at least one of the tools seems to be such that a sub-caliber cartridge could be slipped by the extraction groove or rim under the spring and then be held by it's tension in the "U" cutout.

I would guess that if I am correct that this device would then be used to insert the cartridge in the chamber since most folks fingers would not fit in the open ejection port far enough to securely insert the small cartridge. The other tool that we can only see the spring side of is probably similar, but has a different handle.

Jerry, Marvin, what are your thoughts on my speculation of the tool's use...

John, Sound as good or better than anything I could come up with. Were some of the 4mm rigs single shot? Of course the .22 LR had a magazine so would this tool be necessary to insert a cartridge? Interesting...I wonder if the Shadow Knows???? Jerry Burney

I THINK the 4mm rigs are all single shot - Anyone know for sure? (EOM)

You are correct, Sir! 4mm rigs are single shot. (EOM)
