My first Luger, a 1917 DWM Mixmaster

I finally laid my hands on my first luger that I own today gentlemen. It is a 1917 mixmaster from DWM, practically no pitting, the finish looks nice but I suspect it may have been refinished, and no DSW center toggle link. She is no collectors piece but she looks nice and seems to have nice rifling and function, so she will do me fine as a shooter.

Pics to follow.

Definitely an old refinish, but she presents well and if she shoots, all the better!

You have a chipped extractor, but there may be enough of it left to function properly

Looks like a nice mag in it also. Is it numbered ? A pic of the bottom would be nice. If you plan on shooting it any amount, I would get a quality aftermarket, and save the wood bottom. You could also sell it to pay for a fair amount of ammo to shoot. Enjoy! John

Congrats!! It looks like a very nice condition shooter. If it functions reliably, then you did very good, and should enjoy it. I, also, noticed the mag. Please give us some photos of it.

Very nice find. Congratulations. Looks pretty clean.

It appears to say 8152 with no other markings visible.

I suppose?

I am pretty new to Lugers, I don't know much.

Early guns were all serialed in this way, if I recall

I would smile all the way to the range with a Luger like this one.
That's a nice looking shooter.
Douglas.

I know, she sure is nice looking and pit free for what I paid for her. I only wish I had a DWM toggle link, they look so nice :(
