Twins~

I just purchased a 1913 DWM unit marked luger from George Anderson and I am awaiting for its goodies. I was able to compare it with my 1913 DWM. They appear identical except for the proofs. Are they? ~~~Eric

They were built in two different factories. DWM was a commercial factory with a military contract. Erfurt was a government owned arsenal. Both were built using the same blueprints, but there will be minor variations between them because of manufacturing tolerances. I would guess that most parts might interchange okay, but would require some fitting (DON'T DO IT!)
As a test of this theory, I would bet that if you attempted to change the grips (if they are original to the guns) would not interchange because of minor machine differences. BE REALLY Careful that you don't give yourself the "million dollar chip" at the safety lever if you test fit the grips to the other guns. |
John right on! The grip screws are not interchangeable and the grips are not even close!!!!

Eric,
What a beautiful pair of twins you've got! I like the definition given by "Ithacaartist: "twin from different mothers" Congratulations indeed, I bet you're quite happy with it! Sergio |

About the favourite background I think I would prefer the first on top, to me it allowes you to focus better on the pistols (absence of shades too) IMHO Sergio |
