Yes. This is a well known photo taken in post war Germany. There is a website somewhere that that has a number of these surrendered arms photos.

I have picked up photos like these before - from the web, other collectors and ones I have bought on ebay

I used to have a couple of photos I collected of arms left in Vietnam... one photo I recall showed Thompson and M3 SMG's stacked like cordwood, rusting out in the open...
Made me feel like crying just to look at those pictures. I lost part of my photo archive in a hard disk crash about 10 years ago... those photos were part of them. :( |

Thanks for sharing those photos; JOHN I agree with you it's painful to see so many handguns left in the open to rust. I've never seen anything like that really Not too far from where I live there is a small military vehicles depo with lorries, helicopters and airplanes dismissed by the airforce. |
