Holster markings?

Picked-up a very nice 1915-dated holster at a local auction (with a very nice WW2 P08 holster, too).
The older one is marked:
'PATENT - CARTONAGEN - FABRIK
-------M BERLIN 0. 27.

S.A. 7. F. 61. 1915

X '

the above under the flap on the front of the holster.
And on the back of the holster, the number '106'.

I understand the manufacturer's name as the Patent (cardboard) Packaging Manufactory, can't make out the letters ahead of the 'M', and wonder about the unit identity, etc.
Any input appreciated.

Photos would help. Is there anything before or after the "X"? The only thing close that I can come up with is Saxon Field Artillery Regiment 7. Is it possible that the "F" you indicate could be an R?

How about:

Feld-Signal Abteilung 7th Fernsprecher weapon 61 'X' could be part of a corps designator.

Thanks for the responses...

The 'F' is definitely an F.
I'll see if I can come-up with useable photos.

It's a Reichswehr marking, Sanitaets-Farhrpersonal 7, Waffe 61.

Thank you!

So, the unit marking is actually post-WW1.

Converted Reichswehr revolver holster?

I'm not familiar enough...

with German military holsters to have a valid opinion, but from inspection, it appears to me to be an original Luger holster.

Looks like someone replaced the majority of the holster toe. Could we see a photo of the back? Bill

Not only that, Bill, but it has a patch on the top of the holster lid, and the lid's edge looks like it was cut down by hand. Clearly a modified holster of some kind.

Per request. I don't know how much these will help answer the questions posed, but I can tell you the following things from close inspection:
1. The toe of the holster has not been replaced - rather, a re-inforcement has been sewn into the inside of the toe, rather like the stiffening piece at the top-back under the belt loops, and this accounts for the stitched seam across the front of the holster.
2. There is a patch sewn on the top of the flap.
3. The flap shows no evidence of having been 'trimmed'.
