I know, I know, you're tired of hearing this...

but with so many new posters it's time again. Please send me a picture of yourself for the Rogues Gallery... it's not fair you get to see us and we don't get to see you... it doesn't have to be a great shot, just a shot!

Don't make us have to come to your house, like we had to do to GT!!! Save us all the trouble and expense, and send in your photo...

John Sabato 03-15-2001 02:06 PM

Not only that...BUT

Posting your profile introduces what is unique about you to the rest of the forum. Don't be bashful. You don't have to give real personal information unless you want to do that but at least tell the rest of us about your background and how you became interested in Lugers.

Some ideas:

What part of the country/world are you in? Perhaps you are neighbors with another frequenter of this forum and don't even know it.

What are your interests? Other guns besides Lugers? thats okay we'll overlook that.

What unusual Lugers/accessories do you own? or desire to own? Did you acquire your Luger(s) in an unusual way? Is there a neat veteran bring back story that goes with your Luger?

See some of the other rogues profiles and you will get the idea...

You can also link your rogues gallery photo into your profile too so we can put your face to your screen or real name. This makes recognizing you at a gun show a little easier that just looking for a Luger Forum Patch.

Welcome to all the newcomers...

Good point John...

If any of you ARE interested in linking your Rogues Gallery photo to your profile, the URL is http://www.lugerforum.com/images/yourname.jpg where yourname is your first initial and your last name dot jpg. Example: mine is LCenter.jpg and John Sabato's is JSabato.jpg Good Luck.

Re: Not only that...BUT

Gruss Gott,John!

The fact is,I'm not only 'bashful" as

you put it,but I'm out of my league as

I told Frank when I spoke with him the other evening.I'm basically a day laborer who has grandiose visions of the "good life'.In my case that would entail

a "moderate" collection of the most

elegent pistols on earth - Glocks! Just

kidding! Honest!! We all know that title

belongs to the very substance and heart

this Forum!!

I couldn't do a picture even if I weren't too embarassed,since I don't

possess the necessary hardware. Even if

I did, I wouldn't know how to use it. I

can barely make sense out of something

as basic as Webtv.

All of the aforegoing rubbish aside, I

do very much enjoy seeing what each and every one of you has to say on a myriad

of aspects regarding the topic at hand-

LUGERS!!! Any and all other information

is just a bonus, which I also value!

Thanks everybody for the help and

Info. you've sent my way. It is very

much appreciated! I love this site!!!!

Tschuss! Mark

FAQ for newbies?

Maybe we should have a FAQ on the side menu, dedicated for the new users. That way, we could introduce them to the site. It could also have the info on sending a picture in, and some FAQ's that most new users ask (what info they should post on the gun they have (instead of being vague), where to find Lugers, Ammo useage, etc....)....

They could also feel more welcome, and know that their mug-shot is needed

Just an idea..

Sounds like a good idea...

I also suggest that maybe the home page might be a good place to put a welcome message, and maybe a "mission statement"... sounds like a good job for the board of directors, er, I mean Rogues, Dok.

Re: Mission Statement

My Mission is to buy as many Lugers as possible before Hugh and John Dunkle buy them all up! But then there is always P.38s., oh shucks, I forgot about Marvin and GT for those!

I can't win!!

You poor guy :(

Guess you'll just have to keep rebuilding those junkers

Re: You poor guy :(

Re: You poor guy :(

Re: You poor guy :(

It always amazes me how great the design is. I see it when I work on "a diamond in the rough" (like Frank's UD)
