.455 cartridges

Bought two boxes of 1943 MK VI Webley ammunition today. The MK VI was the last variation of this revolver cartridge, and according to this web site-- http://cartridgecollectors.org/?page...455-cartridges --has a jacketed bullet. I would like to see one, but as neither box has ever been opened I guess I don't get to yet :crying:
They look good with my MKII though.

Here's a Mk I and a Mk II

Must clean the Adams round

Thanks for posting pictures! Is the MKI a black powder round?

Talk to your local dentist or doctor and maybe they'll take a couple xrays for a bottle of wine or something.

I thought I'd throw this up here just for S&G...

It's from the 1953 Lyman Reloading Manual #39...At the very end of the 'Pistol Cartridges' section...

Please direct your attention to the very last line...

I checked the Handloaders Manual Of Cartridge Conversions and COTW and the .455 Colt is the same as the .455 Enfield Mk 1...

How do you call the cartridge for the 455 colt in service in UK : 455 auto ?
The 3' in standing place

The .455 Auto was for the Webley semi-automatic revolver (and should not be fired in one of the revolvers). Wouldn't the .455 Colts have just used standard .455 revolver ammunition (Mk IIs, probably?)?

The third cart in my pic ; 455auto is for the colt 1911A1 in UK service during WWII

Ah, I was thinking of the Colt revolvers! I completely forgot about the 1911s in UK service. Mea culpa. :)

They are called a .455 Auto by some, and .455 Webley Auto by others. I own a 1914 Colt 1911 in .455 Auto caliber.
