"Original Mauser" stamp on Toggle
I have come across a Luger with a 6"barrel and grip safety serial #11.00688*. From what I have been able to find out this is a US made Luger by Interarms. Can any one confirm and give me an idea what it should be retailing for? Currently the retailer is asking $3500CDN Appears to be relatively new with two mags and accessories, no box.
Thanks. |
Welcome to the Lugerforum.
The gun is Mauser made in Germany during the 1970's for the American market... and even brand new in the box isn't worth $3500 CDN... more like $900 to $1400 USD, depending on condition of the gun and available accessories, and the model type. |
It's quite a beautiful gun, especially if you want a nice looking Luger to use at the range.
As far as I'm concerned, I don't want to sound mean at all but I'm a bit of a "purist" in these things, as I would prefer a honest WWII Luger, or a gun "perspiring history". IMHO |
Interarms was the Importer for the post war Mauser Lugers. They are great Lugers and a "hoot" to own and shoot, but that price is WAY out of line.

Mauser
Checked the item today, and it was indeed a "Made in Germany" model Mauser new never been fired. While it IS expensive one has to remember that I am In Canada and we pay dearly for our toys, $3500 seems to be about the going price I am afraid and while I would love to take advantage of the lower prices for all Lugers south of the border, it is damn near impossible to get one across the border without a lot of hassle and paperwork . I have a 1918 DWM with about a 50% finish, no rust anywhere all the numbers match including the two original factor magazines that I will not shoot in fear something might break. I thought this might be a shooter, while the trigger pull sucks, it is accurate. Thanks for you input everyone.

I didn't realize that you lived in Canada. I have no idea what handgun prices are there compared to the USA. Here, a NIB, unfired post war Mauser with box, and all of the goodies is about 1/2 of what that fella wants for his. I purchased mine some time ago, and it was unfired, for less than 1/2 of that price.
I guess we just have to go with the flow, or move. |
