Help me ID this ammo

Been going to many flea markets and am always surprised at the large number of rifles and handguns being sold here in Florida. Plus lots of ammo, many cal. and vintages. I always ask for .30 Luger. Believe it or not some ( younger dealers read less than 50 years old) have never heard of .30 Luger. Needless to I have never found any, but a few guys stocking a lot of vintage ammo are pretty sure they have some at home, but they never seem to bring it in. Now to my question. I came across a seller that had a old box of ammo, he did not deal with ant ammo and did not know what pistol it was for. It was/is a fairly old box, never opened, so I did not wish to open the box. It contains 25 rounds, marked NO. 326 Selbstlade pistolen Cal. 7.65mm. It looked to have both French and German writing on it. Not sure on that point. He only wanted $7 for the box. He said he would save it until next week for me. Any idea as to what pistol is chambered for it and maybe age? Seeing it looks like a unopened vintage box, I guess $7 should be a good buy and pass it along to someone who might be interested in it.
Thanks, Bill

Buy it! If no one else wants it, I'll buy it from you. It would make a good accessory for a 1900AE...Like, for instance, mine... :)

FWIW - I paid $50 for this old box of 50 unfired cartridges...That's twice the going rate...But I would never shoot it...It's just for display... :D

"Selbstlade pistolen Cal 7,65mm" translates to; "Automatic Pistol 7.65," I think it might be worth the $7.00 to find out what they are.

sorry, I could not find that caliber, just have this one :)
I can look tomorrow when I have not been mind busting for work (still working, just taking a break)

I think I paid $15 or $20 for this box and thought it was a steal :)

Possibly 32 auto/32 acp.

Edward Tinker 01-20-2014 11:57 PM

Yes, 7.65mm equals 32 acp...

7.65 = .32 acp. ? In Sheepherder's photo above, his box of .30 Luger states the ammo is 7.65?

Yes. They are both 7.65. Bill

Will buy the box next Monday, take some pictures and post them.
Thanks for all the info.

Bill (the one in NH), don't forget that though the caliber of the projectile is the same, the .32ACP is a totally different round, otherwise, with no bottleneck and much shorter, etc.
