Used Grips.?
Hey Guys...got a question....last year I bought an all matching 1918 DWM 9mm...pretty good shape....with the exception the grips show a lot of wear.....just dont seem like they came with the pistol...that much wear on the grips but the barrel is in good shape ...not shot out....so....am looking to replace the grips.....does anyone have any grips they would be willing to part with.?...started to buy a set off Ebay....saw two sets ...one for $29 and other for $59........I bought a set last year....and have apparently mislaid/lost the right grip....anyway....if anyone happens to have a pair of grips they would be willing to part with....let me know...and what you want for them.......maybe we can get together.....I appreciate the help as always...........Danke...Hans Fischer

Hi Hans, did you check inside the grips, very carefully, for any numbers or markings of any kind? I believe the last two digits of the serial number should be stamped inside on both grips. If I am wrong perhaps another forum member will correct me.

Are you looking for original grips or modern replacements? If you want quality new grips, I have 2 pair of Nills grips, never used, purchased smooth and then checkered by Hugh to 22 lpi. $140 a pair. MR

(edit) On second thought, it might have been 32 lpi--insanely fine checkering |
Hans, Sorry no nice original DWM grips in stock, but do have the following new repros available: dark brown or black (widow) plastic grips or new course checkered wood asian made @$25 per set + $5 S&H. Tom

If the grips on it are just very worn originals and fit the frame well, your best bet may be just to send those to Hugh for restoration. I sent him the original numbered grips from my 1900 Parabellum, which had the checkering worn almost completely smooth. Three weeks later, I received them back and was amazed...they looked as though they'd just left the DWM factory, beautiful checkering and that gorgeous reddish-chocolate brown color of the originals. He's a true craftsman.
