Not much of a revolver aficionado but I have always liked the snubbies. Picked this J frame no dash Model 36 at Cabelas about a month ago. It was made in '74-75, came with the J frame target grips. Someone said it looked like a pair of grips wearing a revolver. It sure does feel good in the hand. What looks like blue wear in the first pic is glare. It is about 99% condition. I still haven't figured out Cabelas pricing, this came out to about $250 out the door. They had a nickel model as well for just a bit more. Should've bought that one too.

An older S&W J frame makes an excellent CCW weapon. I prefer the older ones that don't have the "lawyer" built in lock on the left side. I can not tell in your photos(can't see the back frame strap) but I assume that you have a square butt Model 36, and not the round butt model. Those are interesting grips for sure.

Nice looking snubbie.

My first handgun was a Smith model 60 born in 76 that I still have and carry on occasion today.

I have 3 sets of grips, target, the skinny service grips and some Pachmeyers which work real well for CCW.

Nice looking piece. And that seems like a good price. What Cabela's didn't mark up on that snubbie I'm sure they added to something else, lol.

Many years ago I converted a square butt J frame to round butt, and have some square butt grips left over (not target style). One set is missing the escutcheons, both sets are missing the screw & grommets.

Shoot me a PM if you're interested and we'll haggle. :)

Yup! Shoulda bought em both..around here that pistol will bring $350 maybe more.

Thanks for the offer but it is a round butt pistol.

I had looked at a m36 at my lgs the other day and it was priced at $499. Next time I was in there it had been sold. The little j-frames don't last long around here, they are in high demand.
