This one's re-blued, right?
 

I see what appears to be bluing over pits and inside the frame. If this observation is correct, the seller is way off with the price, towards the high side?

It is Germany stamped, so it could be an old refurb. This guy is always high, but to my untrained Navy eyes, it looks good - perhaps too cleaned up around the ear area of the frame?

How do the 'M"s look to you?

I had a navy, sold it, one of the guns I wish I had kept / that and the fat barrel I sold :(

The "M's" look good to me ... first thing I look for on a Navy... (The late Tom Armstrong taught me that!) The magazine bottom finish and numbering are a little too nice for my taste... They don't look as old as the pistol.

The grips are DWM, but look like they have refreshed checkering to me. The "50" stamps in them look pretty crisp as well.

I agree with Ed, that this gun was probably refurbished a long time ago. A nice job. I have no idea about the market price on Navies... I stopped tracking them since I can't afford one!:crying:

I think the biggest clue to an old refurb on this gun is that the internal frame rails and bottoms of the receiver rails are blued, not bright as they would be on an original finish gun. Just my opinion. Price is pretty high. There is a comparable 1916 on GB that is hovering in the 3600 range right now with no reserve. If I hadn't just ponied up on a registered M-2 carbine.....

You lucky Dawg! The M2 carbine is the select-fire one, yes? It would be a near toss-up for me between one of those and a nice Navy! Dang NY State and its Sullivan Act! And Dang my empty wallet!

since the germany stamp is not showing halo or bright metal, wouldn't this also indicate the gun was refinished after the germany stamp was struck?

I have a habit of saving my pennies and waiting for a good deal to walk into my hands. The right gun at the right price.
