1918 Luger Grip Identification

4 Attachment(s)
I have a DWM Luger that has all matching numbers except the grips. I wanted to know if anyone could identify the numbers for me. They appear to say S/42. Is that correct? What type of Luger would they have came off of? Any help would be appreciated.

The S/42 mark represents Armorer's replacement parts. These are original WW2 era grips replaced by an armorer to bring your WW1 era DWM up to spec.

So the grips are original to the gun. At least in the sense that they were put on in Germany, not later.

most likely, but who knows unless you know who brought it back...

No I do not know who brought it back. A friend I work with stepdad owned it and left it to him. His stepdad is dead so the trail ends there. Is the reason only one grip has markings because they were replacements?
